The survival weekend was a fun and adventurous couple of days, the experience made me feel independent and proud.

 

 

I learnt a lot of things on the weekend such as how to filter water, navigational skills, shelter building and more.

Bear Grylls and Steve Backshall dropped in on Scout groups across London and the South East by helicopter. #Bearintheair was a day of open fire cooking, crafting, climbing, selfies, kayaking, rafting, abseiling and campfires

The Chief Scout, Bear Grylls, with fellow adventurer Steve Backshall, presenter of Deadly 60, dropped in to Pinewood Scout Centre on sunday 11th may 2014 morning 

 

The visit was part of the Bear in the Air as the Chief Scout meets and inspires young people. 70 Croydon Cubs were taking part in their Chief Scouts Silver Award day and 40 scouts were linking with Croydon Forestry school and undertaking a survival camp.
